Default a little more power

I have a 2.4 2000 Sunfire GT. All it has a K&N air filter, but that will only take it so far. I have looked in to performance chips, I dont want to spend 700$ for 5 or 6 hp. Any ideas, without spending all my savings (which I dont have)

Just a performance muffler will offer some gains, is it a Cold air intake or just a K&N in the stock location? do you run supreme or regular?

doing a DIY exhaust will add some power. also a performance camshaft and cam gears will help.

Don't forget after 200,000km your playing with fire if your assuming the car is gunna last any length of time. If your anywhere near that milege I would highly recommend finding a new car to modify, as they are well known for blowing up at that milege.

i have a 2000 sunfire gt 2.4, i added a cold air intake and dual aftermarket mufflers, it improved the sound and the performance, is there much of a price difference between non-synthetic and synthetic oil?

synthetic aint that much more expensive, If you do your own oil change, otherwise it can be up to 100$ (canadian) it goes on sale all the time at canadian tire
