My beloved conv burned up this morning in preparing to take it to the Autotrain to retire it to Florida for complete restoration. Bought it new in 1965. It was not insured. The engine compartment, the interior, the top and the two new front tires gone. The DC fire dept took 38 minutes to get to it when the nearest fire house is less than a mile away. There are two intersections with the same road address that I phoned in and a further-away station went to the wrong one first. Don't know that it could have been saved if they'd gotten to it sooner but I feel it might have had a chance.

Has a full 26 gal tank of high test and two brand new whitewall tires on the read. Lots of extra parts: door window and vent window/mech, starter, alternater, steering pump, door mechanism, transmission x-member, misc trim (not much good).

If anyone knows of any interest, please have them call me. I hate to just junk it when I know there are members looking for parts.
