Default Back in the shop

Today we took off the old clutch fan and began making mounts for my new
Dual 12'' chrome shrouded electric cooling fans
moving 2000cfm each

looking to improve mpg
and gain some 4-6 inches of space to work in front of the engine, maybe gain a horse or two as well with the removed drag from the old fan

not to mention any more chrome I can add under the hood is all-right by me.

After finals I plan on searching for that Camshaft+Lifters
I have been so desperately and patiently waiting for
also need to decide on a timing set
all to match
my 1406 edelbrock
and that holley contender intake
any and all suggestions/advice welcome
and thanks for looking

ps: if your interested in what cooling fans I went with just type in: Dual 12" CHROME Electric Radiator Cooling Fans + BONUS
on Egay(ebay) and it should come up
I got both for 110 including shipping and the relay unit
they have since gone down to 100 for everything with free shipping
not bad for 4000cfm and CHROME!
rodpartsdealer is the seller

I need advice on a cam & lifter kit for my 305. I have a 1406 edelbrock carb and holley contender hi-rise dual plane intake manifold. I want to use high quality parts and I want to get the most out of my small block. I have been searching and searching and searching, and I find a lot of everything but I know close to nothing about exhaust and intake durations, lift durations etc.
in case you don't want to read through the thread these are my specs

1986 pontiac parisienne brougham
with a 5.0L 305
A/C and smog pump removed
HEI distributor
vacuum advance
spectre dual 4in ram air intake
edelbrock 1406(tobeinstalled)
holley contender high rise dual plane intake manifold (tobeinstalled)
independent front suspension
limited slip in the rear
dual exhaust 2.25 side exits before back wheels
and finally dual 12 chrome radiator cooling fans

help me be first off the line
