Grand Prix This long running model has seen many changes, from a large RWD car, to a smaller RWD car, to a small FWD car, to a large FWD car, and with its available supercharged engines, and powerful V8s, it has never left the limelight as one of the most popular cars in America.

Default Which power steering pump do I need?

My daughter's pump is making noise. I have looked and it seems there are two types for it. One with variable assist and a regular one. The variable assist pump mentions a code of "NV7". Where would I look for this code? s it part of the VIN? The pump does have an electrical connector on it. 1999 Pontiac Grand AM
Autozone lists only one, but other sources list two types. I'm trying to figure out which on I need. Thanks.

An enigine size would be helpful...I believe that was only available on the v6 motor. My suggestion would be to check for a stamping on the body of the old pump. It may be possible to get the dealer (good luck) to tell with your vin #.A1 makesthe two aftermarket pumps. I would just order both from Oreillys and match it up.
