Default Need help with Grand Am 97

I need little help witth my 97 Grand Am SE. I'm having a problem with engine over-heating.. well not over-heating, but heating up more that it's supposed to. The needle often hits the 3/4 mark, sometimes higher. I'm thinking maybe it's the thermostat, but I haven't had time to check it myself. Oil changes are done every 4000 km, and the engine shows about 260,000 km (I know, it's a lot!!!). Anyone got any suggestions or tips?
