Default How did it look when new?

I bought a 69 GP SJ 6 years ago and it has been at the paint shop for 2 years. Doing a ground up restoration on this one. Had to wait for room to work if you know what I mean. I have purchased a lots of parts from Ames Performance and recently ask the tech there about the shifter plate. Question was: My existing plate with the "Model SJ" on it is chrome. Looks as though there might have been something on it like wood grain. The only reference he had was a black and white ad and couldn't tell if it was painted or wood grain. Anyone out there able to give me a true answer. Would certainly appreciate your help. Also been looking for new or very good condition front parking lights with the amber side markers. Anyone know where I might be able to get those. Thanks JFC[IMG][/IMG]

Default RE: How did it look when new?

Looks like a great car to start with!!! I am thinking it may have had the wood decal in the recessed area facing up. At least from what's left on mine, it looks like that is what it had. I do not know if someone like Performance Years or Ames would have that or not.
