Default Brakes on 2002 Grand Prix GTP

Last Friday when I left work, I noticed a noise coming from the front of my car. It sounded like a growling or like an engine reved up to a higher than normal RPM, but it only does it once you get to 30-35 MPH & when you start to come to a stop or slow down, the sound goes down as well. After this going on for about 5-10 miles, my front brakes started rubbing and then grinding real bad when I would come to a stop. I parked the car for the weekend & on Monday, I took it to a Just for Brakes & they said the 2 front rotors needed to be replaced & it needed a brake job. So, needless to say, $522.00 later when I picked the car up from them, the growling noise is still there. They said they heard it as well & that it could either be a bearing noise or a tire noise. I took it to a tire shop today where I just recently purchased new tires & had them inspect them & rotate them, and the noise is still there. Has anyone ever had this type of problem & if so, any idea of what it could be?

Sounds like your wheel bearing is bad. An easy way to tell is to lift the front wheels off the ground, then spin each wheel by hand while you have your other hand on the coil spring. If you feel any kind of vibration in the spring, then that indicates which side the bad bearing is on
