Default 05 V6 SuperCh throttle limiting

The other day the car konked out...pulled over...started up ok. Now when revving up it hits about 4500 rpm and stops..won't go higher no matter if the peddle is to the floor. Seems to me the computer is limiting but no fault lights are on. Any ideas what's up?

I recently put in what I think is 10W40 in it. I just went through the manual and it specifically states to only use 5W30...could this be an issue (I just put 5W30 back in)?

Thanks,
Tom

Default Post Cat Check

Ok...I removed and checked the Cat and its ok...put it back in.
Removed and cleaned the MAF sensor...no change
It seems to be missing on its way up to 4500 rpm.
Any other suggestions would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Tom

My car wouldnt rev high and seemed to stutter when I had a faulty spark plug. The lock-up kicks in and wont let it rev high so you don't damage anything. Just a thought because I also had no lights on.

i'm not quite sure about supercharged engines though but I know the car automatically sets the timing if it detects any amount of knock. This will severly limit power because it starts backing off your timing. Also your oil wouldn't cause this problem.
