Default Cold air intake questions

Hi all grand am lovers. .I drive a 04 grand am gt1 with the sc/t kit and all the other goodies. But my question is about putting in a cold air intake. Do you have to remove the ram air setup or do you just use both? I had installed one on my 04 se2 model I had previously but im confused as to how it will work? Do you have to make certain modifications in order to use the CAI?? Any input would be greatly appreciated as I feel that a CAI provides more power than the ram air alone does. Thanks..

Default RE: Cold air intake questions

hey man.. i have an 04 grand am gt as well. I got a K&N Cold air intake and i installed it. the ram air does become unusable unless you can figure out a fabircation to add into it, butttt i left the front piece in that says ram air intake. there are two tubes that come off of the ram air intake. one is in the wheel well and the other goes right to the airbox. The way mine is now with the tubes left in.. the ram air is feeding cooler air to the cone in the wheel well and the other ram air tube is blowing outside air onto the engine so its keeping the engine even cooler lol. There is an increase with horse power and slight gas milage for the better. hope this helps. Have fun!!
