It usualy breaks down to what is causing the speaker to cut out. It is usualy one of a couple things.
1. Wiring
A. look at the connections on the speaker. if they are on solid then move on to B
B. Either follow the wire from the speaker to the amp using an Voltmeter looking for shorts or just replace the line.
2. you could have a problem in the head unit itself or in an amplifier.
A. I would try rewiring the speaker first

I've got a problem with a 92 Transport. Front right speaker (top of the dashboard) appears to have a loose connection problem as it cuts in and out and crackles.

Was wondering what's the easiest way to get to the wiring connection.

TIA for any help.
