Bonneville While this model began its run as a full sized model, and shrunk down to a mid sized model in the 80s and 90s, it has returned to full size sedan status to be the flagship luxury model in the Pontiac lineup.

Default 97 Bonneville electrical issues

1. My radio controls stopped working. Whenever I turned the wheel the volume started to go down. Do I need to pull the air bag and see if there is a connection problem or dirty contact?

2. Passenger window rolls down with the driver switch but not back up. It will roll up with the passenger switch but not down? I can't see both swictches going bad at the same time but maybe the motor or a connection at the motor?

Any help with either one would be great.

Default RE: 97 Bonneville electrical issues

I had the same issue with my '97 Bonneville. If you have steering wheel controls, pop out the right control with the volume on it and disconnect it. See if the problem persists. On mine I need to replace the module GM part # 16191172.
