Slow Shift
Hi guys,
I am the proud owner of a 96 TransAm I bought in from a field in September. So far she has a new LT1, New rear gears, bearings and seals, new bushings on everything, new KYB's front and rear and she's ready to go....I thought.
I went to Bradenton last Saturday for a run n' tune day. The problem I am having is not knowing what is normal for the shift in these cars. It has a 6 speed manual T-56 that is impossible to speed shift. The shifter stops in neutral between every gear. If you try to slam it, it still won't go through neutral to the next gear without that little hesitation. Is this a normal thing? If so, will a Hurst or B&M shifter fix it?
I cant keep up with the automatics the way this thing shifts. It's the only dissappointment I have with the car.
