I just bought an Aztek yesterday and the Hatch Door Ajar light keeps coming on even though the hatch is closed. I will be taking it back to the dealer because even though I bought it used - it is a 2005 with only 4400 miles on it.

Any ideas?

some sort of sending unit maybe? or maybe the latch isnt engaging all the way

there is likely a small switch that triggers that light, and that little switch may be bad. do you have any warranty with your vehicle? push this on them as a SAFETY issue. they will say that it isnt, but insist that something isnt closing right, and you want it fixed.
